There more you spend time listening to english speakers the better of understanding the language and mastering the language, and you acclamatize to the language, pronunciation of words, writing of correct spelling, it makes your life easier. I enjoy listening to my favorite radio station in Sandton, Johannesburg: TalkRadio 702 on channel 856 and VOA on DSTV. These channels are good if you want to improve your listening skill.

ReplyDeleteYou're right, the more you listen to a language, the more familiar you become with its sounds, intonation, vocabulary, structures, idiomatic expressions, etc. The fact of receiving frequent input (oral in this case) when you're learning a second language is key to a successful experience.
I always tell my students to listen to songs in English and to watch TV shows and movies in English as much as they can. This way, their ears will adapt to listening to English sounds and patterns.
